Recently, Science and Technology Department of Guizhou Province officially announced the list of approved projects of the “2022 Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Support Plan Project”. The project “Research and Application of Digital Protection and Display Technology Integration for the Genetic Heritage of Guizhou Ethnic Architecture Culture”, which was headed by Lu Dazhuang, a teacher from the School of Culture, Arts and Media at our university, was finally approved after a fierce competition.
Mr. Lu Dazhuang and his team are guided by the significant needs of Guizhou, focusing on the current situation of the salvage protection of our province's ethnic architectural heritage, proposing that "the use of technological means not only restores history, but more importantly, it inherits the cultural connotation behind the architecture", and striving to solve the insufficient inheritance and innovation of ethnic architectural cultural context. They also focus on solving the problem of the lack of systematic digital technology in Guizhou ethnic architecture. Through the integration and innovation of digital protection technology and display technology, they aim to explore the connotation of ethnic architectural culture in the new era, promote the construction of digital twin system for Guizhou ethnic architecture, promote the green development of ethnic architectural culture industry, promote the high-quality development of cultural tourism integration, and promote the birth of new business forms, new industries and new businesses.
In this application, Professor Lu Dazhuang and his team highlight the problem-oriented approach, and strengthen theoretical guidance with response to social concerns by serving the national and local construction. The application is based on the theory of Guizhou ethnic architecture space, with the research characteristics of exploring and interpreting the vitality of ethnic architecture culture. The research framework integrates the technology of drone oblique photography and real-time 3D reconstruction, the technology of urban/building space informatization and cascade neural network, the technology of digital media art display, the technology of data visualization and the technology of multi-agent simulation. The research direction is to form an important digital record for the rescue protection of ethnic architecture, and the research goal is to explore the modern value of Guizhou ethnic architecture cultural heritage. They conduct research on the multi-dimensional cross-level interaction effects and mapping relationships between the construction of digitalized ethnic architecture and the rescue protection and immersive experience of ethnic architecture cultural heritage, the construction of regional digital twin system of Guizhou ethnic architecture cultural heritage, the improvement of innovation ability of cultural and creative products, and the promotion of steady improvement of urban and rural space comprehensive governance level, in order to serve the dissemination of Guizhou ethnic architecture culture and the high-quality economic and social development of our province.
In recent years, our school has attached great importance to the construction and development of scientific research, and strengthened the overall planning and organizational management of project applications by exploring new ideas, methods, and initiatives for cultivating scientific research projects. With active creation for scientific research atmosphere, our school will be improving the quality of project applications constantly.
